Richmond, VA Richmond Marathon Saturday, November 11, 2006 |

Race Report from Ricky Scott:
Quick recap. Warm day,
very warm day. Followed Johnny's plan up until the half. Then got fried going
across that long bridge back into the city. Right before mile 17 Sharon was
waiting to take a few pictures. I told her, I'd see her in two hours. Little
did I realize how true that would turn out to be. Right before, I saw her, I
saw a guy from Greensboro, I know, Joe. Seeing Joe and Sharon helped me get
to mile 18, which is were I just decided to enjoy the beautiful 70 degree day
(at that point)
Temp was 58 at the start and 77 when we finished. Speaking of finished, Johnny
did an impersonation of Roger from a couple of years ago. He passed out in Tommy's
arms, (okay cut out the thoughts guys) Johnny ended up in the medical room,
got two IV's and was fine. Harold did not qualify for the 2007 Boston, but best
I can tell did qualify for 2008.
Harold ran a 4:06
I ran 4:35
Tommy ran a 4:37
Johnny ran a 4:43
I don't ever remembering seeing so many people laid out along the route, getting
oxygen and iced down before.
I ain't going back to Richmond, today reminded me a lot of Baltimore 2001 (and
I ain't going back to Baltimore either.)
