The second half

Santa got LOTS of kids asking for lots of things for Christmas. They would
look with a suspicious eye and think "he isn't fat, and he doesn't have a
beard, but I better not take a chance and miss this opportunity"

Just past mile 16 we got to be a part of the preparation for the Panther-Giants
NFL game on Sunday

Santa with a great band we found at mile 16.5

Wendy and Joe went to mile 18 to cheer everyone on. Here they caught
Don and Chris from the Mangum Track Club on camera. They were flying!

Here come Ron and Chuck..

...there they go - about to pass the infamous Caldwell Street building, home
of many Southern Bell/BellSouth memories...

Chuck is smiling because he can just keep running past the BellSouth
building - after over 30 years of service, he's now retired!

The cold didn't seem to bother everyone

Yes, Ron IS using the Mile 19 marker for support

Just past mile 10 we ran with David, an A-10 pilot from Pope AFB
who is running his 5th marathon of 2006 today, and Karen, who is
on a relay team, this is her first ever run of 10 miles. Karen starts work
next week as a police officer in High Point!

Charlotte's Finest were all over the course, keeping runners and drivers
safely separated. Hats off to all of them for a great job.

Ron's former boss, Major Maxwell, is smiling a lot more since her retirement
last month!

The bridge says "Last Hill - only 1.5 miles to go". Can we believe that?
