March 11, 2006 Metrolina Aids Project (MAP) Sprint Triathlon 500 yd swim, 20K bike, 5K run Huntersville, NC |
| This year the MAP tri moved to a new venue in Huntersville, NC. The Huntersville Family Aquatic Center was a great place for the swim, and the roads around Huntersville offered a challenging (aka, hilly) bike course. We had two first time triathletes and lots of good support. The weather cooperated, with temps around 60 by the time the bike started - and the rain held off until we all finished! |
| Playbook for Life
This year we are proudly wearing the colors of Playbook for Life Racing, a ministry headed up by Wayne Carpenter and Jim Rhodes. Playbook for Life was founded by our good friend Keith White (www.playbookforlife.com). Wayne and Jim expanded Keith's outreach to include local runners, cyclists, and triathletes who want a closer relationship with the Lord. Above, L to R: Jim, Jeff, Ron, Amy, Ryan, and Christa. This is the first tri for Ryan and Christa.
We had a great deal of interest at the PBFL Racing tent. At 0845 we all joined hands for prayer to dedicate the day to His service. You can find the website for PBFL racing by going to www.playbookforlife.com, scrolling down, and clicking on the PBFL Racing link. |
