The most emotional start to a marathon you will ever experience. Before sunrise there is a Memorial Service, including a Roll Call of veterans from the 1942 Bataan Death March who have passed away in the last year. As you queue up to begin the race you have a chance to gently shake the hands of surviving veterans from those terrible days on the Bataan Peninsula. It may be the only time you cross a start line with tears in your eyes.
It's 0655 local time and we all are on the way for our 26.2. |
