Grandfather Mountain Marathon

39th running

All of these pictures are reduced for web viewing. If you want the "full size" file (about 500K) click here to email me.

My last view of Chuck. That's him pulling away up the BFH just before Mile 17.
In another couple of minutes, Pam surged out of view.

My Tall Girl Volunteer at Mile 17, just as we turn back on 221. The volunteers at this race are the BEST!

Layne and Bobby get serious late in the race. Game faces on.

At this point, even the downhills hurt!

Around Mile 23 or so, Grandfather was up in the clouds. The minutes were ticking away for me...

...and the track was not within my reach today. Still I had a great run, finishing vertical and moving at 5:13.
Bobby, Layne, and Chuck DID make the track - along with most everyone else from MTC!

Those guys look WAY too relaxed to have just run up the mountain

On a day like this, we all give thanks to God for our health and His Goodness and Grace.
A wonderful day to run in the beautiful mountains, a wonderful day to be surrounded by friends.

SPECIAL THANKS to our Scream Team supporters. You made all the difference in the world!
