SCREAM TEAM REPORT - Ellen Weissman

Hi,

What a great day spectating. Jorge, Abe, I can't believe I missed you. I can't believe it because we apparently missed you twice!!! Anyway, Ken and I went out to mile 18 at around 96th St on 1st Ave. First person we saw go by was, I think, Cher. I can't remember the order we saw everyone else but we caught Ron, Doug, Daniel, David Jenkins, Pam and Mike W. Everybody looked great. We met Julia, Glenn and Ken Fargnoli spectating on 1st Ave too. Then we all moved up to 5th Ave & 97th (just after mile 23). There we caught Harriet who said she was on PR pace (I assume she meant PR for walking since she was w/ the Hot Flashes) then we saw everybody else again. Everyone was looking just great & everybody stopped for hugs and pictures and so on. We were all just screaming our lungs out and having a great time. Eventually Julia and Glenn left to meet people at the end and Ken and I stayed on 5th Ave and screamed until the absolute bitter end.

The last person who passed us (I would guess she probably went on to finish in about 7:45) was celebrating her 61st birthday and judging by her accent she was from Ireland. She spoke to us for a bit and then she went on her way, looking as happy as if she were winning the race. It totally made my day.

I am so proud of all of you who ran today. Jeez, you guys all rocked.

So sorry Abe and Jorge that I didn't get to see you!

LOL, I just realize I have no idea who won! I guess I should go check out the results.
