Race Report

New York City Marathon

See all the medals? We don't think there was one for "Giving Directions". She told the Scream
Team "Take the Brooklyn Bridge. It's just a 20 minute walk."

After 20 minutes of walking, they finally came upon a sign pointing to the Brooklyn Bridge

Wait - there in the distance, could it be?

Yes, it is! Just a little further...

Beth, Todd, and Bob still on the Brooklyn side of the East River

With the Manhattan skyline looming ahead, Bob still has his sign!

And so does John.

Once on the Manhattan side our Scream Teamers found a cab. Will they make it to mile 16 in time?

Meanwhile, back at the race...

After the courses merge together at Mile 8, a right turn onto Lafayette, a much narrower street between
row houses, the trees touching overhead and the crowds raising the noise level from merely
LOUD to PHENOMENAL.

It was along here that we spotted this couple with "Just"..."Engaged" on the back of their shirts.
They were engaged 3 days ago, guess this is a test of the relationship!

Here the crowds came out into the street and formed an arch for us to run through

Whaddyaknow? More firefighters!

Around mile 12.5, still in Brooklyn, the Christmas decorations are already out
