A great ride - if you like hills and rough pavement. There was plenty of both! Offsetting that was the low, low traffic; beautiful rural scenery; and the chance to contribute to a worthwhile cause while riding with old and new friends. We had a blessed day. Challenging course, wonderful volunteers at the aid stations, good company to ride with.
Mike, formerly
from Pittsburgh but a 13 year Charlotte resident, showed us how to
attack hills all day long.
Couple of the KPAC team at one of the rest stops.
We weren't last. But we usually could see it from where we were.
Gravesite of James Miller - he almost made it through the War of Northern Aggression, he died on March 2, 1865. This one is in honor of Mr. Ward.
Ron, Mike, Mike, and Danny at the last aid station at mile 50. We are still vertical and moving!
