Law Enforcement Bicycle Ride to DC
Charlotte to Washington DC
May 9-13, 2012

About This Year's Ride

What is the Law Enforcement
Bicycle Ride to DC?

Law Enforcement officers from Mecklenburg County ride bicycles 500 miles over four days from Charlotte to Washington, DC. From the start in Charlotte and all along the way we are joined by fellow officers and citizens from towns and cities on the route who ride with us to show support for our cause - a ride in honor and memory of those who have died in the line of duty. Though the journey is not easy, each mile is a tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. At the completion of the ride we attend the Candlelight Vigil at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC.

Note that National Police Week is
May 13-19
in 2012. This means our ride will take place before Police Week - because we finish our ride by attending the Candlelight Vigil and the Vigil is always on May 13.
